At Your Local Movers, all of our removalists in Brisbane are actually hired by us, meaning no contractors! As they are all hired by us we can train them in-house to ensure their techniques are continually up to scratch. All of our movers have been through accredited training to ensure they know exactly what to do on the job and how to do it in a timely manner.
One of the main skills they are trained for is lifting! Lifting can be very dangerous and cause serious injury if done incorrectly. That is why we make sure we do everything to train them so they know how to lift properly and are demonstrate their skills on the job.
All of our removalists in Brisbane have been taught various types of lifts for different items of furniture and situations. One of the lifts is a lift for fridges, sometimes fridges cannot be moved with a trolley as there are stairs, so thats when the lift comes into play. For a fridge lift, one person lifts the fridge from the bottom and the other person lifts from the top. Our movers move fridges everyday, so you can definitely trust them to move yours! There is no need to attempt to try move them yourself, especially if you have to move it up or down a couple of stairs.
Another type of lift, which is used for items that need two people is the three-quarter lift. In the three-quarter lift one mover lifts up the item a little bit on one side and the other mover helps by lifting the other side. This makes the weight distribute evenly between the two movers.
Once again, it is recommended you do hire a professional if you do need to move heavy items such as fridges, couches, beds as you do not want to risk attempting yourself when it is just as simple to hire a removalist for the job!
